Purpose
The primary purpose of 3 Clicks Spelling is to help struggling spellers, children as well as adults, to incorporate their strong speaking vocabulary into their written language. 

Moats (2005 -2006), states that many "poor spellers may restrict what they write to words they can spell, with inevitable loss of verbal power".  (p12)  

3 Clicks Spelling is not a spelling program.  A student may want to include a word in their writing that may not have yet been introduced in a spelling program/sequence and/or the student may not have mastered the spelling concept previously introduced.

Goal:
The goal of 3 Clicks Spelling is for an individual to find the correct spelling of a word with three clicks and in less than one minute.
